City Mayor

Born and raised in Indiana, Ralph served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Munitions Maintenance Specialist for 22 1/2 years. After retiring from the USAF, Ralph drove a semi over the road, then started as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Springfield. He then served on several different positions within the City of Springfield: Civil Service Board, Commissioner of Ward 2, and presently as Mayor. Ralph is married to his wife Virgie (Jeanie) Hammond. He is very active in the community and Hiland Park Baptist church. In his off time, Ralph enjoys motorcycle riding, deer hunting and helping others. Mayor Hammond can be reached at 850-872-7570 ext.108 (office), 850-890-2694 (cell) or at city hall during business hours.
