07/31/2023 - 43-Year-Old Boaz, Al Man Arrested for Attempted Sexual Battery

On July 29, 2023, the Springfield Police Department responded to the 3500 block of St. John Street in reference to an open line 911 call. The caller was not responding to the 911 operator, but could be heard telling a male they were on the phone with a friend. Springfield Police Department officers eventually located the caller in a wooded area, and a white male, later identified as 43-Year-Old Joseph Keith Clark, was seeing fleeing the scene.

Officers were able to determine Mr. Clark attempted to sexually batter the Victim, however the Victim was able to fight Mr. Clark off and contact emergency services.

With the assistance of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the Parker Police Department, a perimeter was established, and Mr. Clark was located a short distance away.

Investigators from the Springfield Police Department responded, and probable cause was developed to charge Mr. Clark was Attempted Sexual Battery. Mr. Clark was transported to the Bay County Jail to await first appearance.
