10/25/2023 - Suspicious Death Investigation

On October 24, 2023, the Springfield Police Department discovered a deceased female in a residence in the 3700 block of E. 8^th Court. The identity of the female was initially unknown, and no cause of death could be determined on scene.

On October 25, 2023, with the assistance of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the female’s identify was confirmed as 41-year-old Amanda Mae Posey. The incident remains under investigation, and the cause of death determination is pending an autopsy and toxicology results.
