Transmitter Rd Retention Pond / Nature Park
Project Award Amount: $3,132,798.28
Project Award Date: February 14, 2022
Project Description: As a result of Hurricane Michael, the City has experienced unprecedented and unforeseen flooding in the Transmitter Rd area. This is a result of mass deforestation, which drastically reduced the ability of existing stormwater systems to convey the volume of stormwater they now experience. The City will construct a stormwater retention pond and nature park, as well as a stormwater conveyance system tying existing infrastructure to the new retention pond. Construction will include the construction of a new stormwater retention pond and the creation of stormwater runoff retention ditches and conveyance connectors to existing City stormwater infrastructure.
Project Engineering Firm: STOA
Project Contractors: Pending
Progress: The City has completed the environmental review process and received the approval to use funds. The City is currently in the process of applying for the permit for the retention pond.
