The Code Enforcement Department is directed to assure code compliance within the physical and legal boundaries of the City of Springfield. State of Florida Statute 162 authorizes cities and counties to enforce their local laws with the intent to promote, protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens. For the City of Springfield this includes the State of Florida Building Code, relative city ordinances, and the International Property Management Code (Ordinance 38, 1-5-2017).
