Project Description: The City of Springfield has been selected to participate in the CDBG-CV program.  The City will use CDBG-CV funds to rebuild the Springfield Community Center on the old City Hall property located at 3529 East 3rd St, Panama City, FL 32401.  The rebuilt community center will provide the City residents a multi-use facility that will serve as a dedicated and safe facility for COVID-19 testing, vaccination, and/or the administration of approved COVID-19 treatments in a non-medical facility.  The proposed construction includes, creating a large assembly space, meeting rooms, and restrooms, as well as a kitchen, ADA compliance improvements as well as paving of the parking lot, lighting and signage, as well as minor paving of the sidewalks adjacent to the community center to allow for citizens to safely walk to the community center.  The project meets one of the three national objectives established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development because the project will benefit 9,055 City residents, of which 6,900 (or 63.91%) are low to moderate income.

Progress: The City is working through the environmental RFI's and anticipate receiving the AGUF shortly.  Once AGUF is received, the City will release the RFP.
